WATER
Water shortages have become the norm in Kosova. There needs to be better management of resources and public education of what the water resources of Kosova are and what is threatening them. People have the right to know if their water is safe or not. Water purity test results should be published regularly along
with a description of the results.

AIR
Filters should be installed at the power plant. People in the surrounding area should be educated as to the danger of living in Obilic. Currently there is very little protection of the environment at the power plant. - in keeping with regulating cars on the roads they must be smog checked.

TREES - DEFORESTATION
People need to be educated about alternative fuels. The market needs to have a cheap alternative to cutting down trees. When they want to cut trees they must have permission from UNMIK to do so. For each tree cut one needs to be planted.

DESERTIFICATION/EROSION
As deforestation increases and urban development takes over rural areas there is an increased chance of landslides and earth movements. Care needs to be taken to ensure that the land is stable.

GREEN SPACE AND URBAN PLANNING
Currently there is a building boom in Kosova. This building is erasing what little green space there is. More coordination needs to occur with the Office of Urban Planning to ensure the preservation of green space. Building regulations and permits need to be enforced.

GARBAGE
There should be regular clean up and proper receptacles offered. Recycling must occur at all levels and be integrated into a waste management plan. People especially children must be educated about the impact of waste on the environment.

LANDMINES/UXO
There is few open spaces in Kosova that are free of the threat of mines. More work needs to be done to inform the public about what they can expect about mines in terms of how long it will take to remove them and what are the incidents of mine strikes.

TREPCA AND OBILIC
There needs to be an environmental assessment of the mines before they are restarted including its impact on the water table, the air and the land surrounding.

CARS
Currently the import of cars occurs largely unchecked. There is already many more cars here then previously. When cars are registered they need to pass a smog test to stay on the road. This includes cars brought by international agencies. Also traffic in tractors needs to be regulated to cut down on traffic congestion. More citations for reckless and unlicensed driving needs to occur.

KPC ENVIRONMENT EDUCATION
If the Kosova Protection Corps is going to function as the rapid reaction force in case of a disaster and if they will provide the human resources to do massive clean ups and projects they should be educated in environment conservation and protection.
